Texas AG’s Gender-Affirming Care Crackdown Thwarted by Crafty Seattle Hospital
In a stunning defeat for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s quixotic quest to control healthcare choices across state lines, a Seattle hospital has successfully fended off his demand for records on gender-affirming care provided to Texas kids. Paxton, a fierce crusader in the GOP’s gender-affirming care crackdown, sought to extend his reach all the way to the Emerald City.
Paxton’s Misguided Mission to “Protect” Texas Kids
Paxton claims he’s just trying to “vigorously protect” children from receiving healthcare he deems “damaging.” But in reality, by attempting to restrict access to gender-affirming care, he’s denying vulnerable kids treatment that medical experts agree is safe and beneficial. It’s a classic case of a politician causing harm in the name of “protection.”
As Dr. Gina Marie Sequeira, co-director of the Gender Clinic at Seattle Children’s Hospital, put it: “The only thing damaging here is Attorney General Paxton’s misguided gender-affirming care crackdown. He should focus on protecting Texas children’s right to healthcare, not restricting it. Otherwise, I might lose my job!”
Seattle Hospital Outsmarts Overzealous AG
Rather than hand over sensitive patient information to Paxton’s prying eyes, the crafty Seattle hospital simply withdrew from doing business in Texas altogether. “Checkmate, Mr. Attorney General,” said Dr. Sequeira. Attorney General Paxton responded by sighing loudly before saying, “Liberals continue to prove their unbelievable stupidity. That’s not checkmate. That’s exactly what I wanted.”
PISR Weighs In
When asked to comment on the situation, Alexa Moss, graphic designer at Politically Incorrect Social Responsibility (PISR) had this to say:
“As a professional doodler, I don’t know much about laws and such, but I do know when someone’s coloring outside the lines. Sounds like this Paxton fella needs to keep his crayons in his own state and stop trying to scribble all over ours! Err, wait. Actually, it kind of seems like Seattle Children’s was coloring outside the lines by treating kids in Texas… this is too confusing. I’ll just state that here at PISR, we vote for minding your own business—works out better for everybody. Can I go back to coloring now?”
In the end, Paxton’s efforts seem to have backfired spectacularly. By dropping his unreasonable records request, he’s essentially admitting defeat—and revealing the true colors of the GOP’s reckless culture war against transgender youth. Here’s hoping other hospitals continue to shield patients from political interference by stopping gender-affirming care altogether.
